Rev. Dr. Marlayna Schmidt
Pastor

Rev. Dr. Schmidt has been an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ for over 32 years; specializing in interim ministry for the past 20 years, she has served congregations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. She is excited to be the new Settled Pastor at FCC Hampton, NH!

 

Rev. Marlayna has a B.A. from Colby College, an M.Div. from Boston University, and a D.Min. (in Preaching) from Chicago Theological Seminary. She has additional training in interim ministry, conflict transformation, stewardship, and church vitality. She is a Reiki Master (Reiki is a “laying on of hands” healing method.)

 

Rev. Marlayna grew up on Revere Beach in Massachusetts, and she and her husband, Rev. Paul Nickerson, live in Beverly, MA, where they enjoy the beach and watersports, cross-country skiing, and golf. They also enjoy reading and writing, watching mysteries on T.V. and listening to stand up comedy. Marlayna has two adult stepsons, two grandchildren, and a rescue dog.

Linda Brandt
Administrative Assistant

Linda loves Hampton! Growing up in North Beach as a young child during the summers with her mother and grandparents, her dream was to live on the Seacoast. After her recent retirement from the public schools in Massachusetts she relocated to Hampton. She loves spending time with her family, traveling, walking the beach and gardening.

 

She is very excited to be part of the FCC community.

Tom Kampersol
Church Sexton

Tom and his partner, Linda, recently moved from Massachusetts to Hampton full time after spending the last 16 summers in their cottage here. Tom has 3 children and 2 grandchildren. He had worked for Shipley/Dow Chemical in Marlborough for over 40 years.

 

He enjoys family time, the beach, fishing, and gardening in his allotment plot at the Hampton Victory Garden.

Donna Makechnie
Church School Superintendent

Donna loves the beach and lakes, camping with her family, crafting, time with friends and organizing activities with kids. She is the proud mother of two daughters who both grew up and received confirmation in FCC Hampton. Donna has worked as the Church School Superintendent for over 18 years and enjoys teaching the middle and high school students in Sunday School.

 

Along with her work at church Donna works as an MRI technologist for Lahey Clinic and has for 36 years.

Jennifer Ramsay
Director of Music

Jennifer, affectionately known as Jen to many, is originally from the Philadelphia, PA, area and has a degree in Music Education (voice and piano) and a graduate degree in Integrated Arts. Jennifer is also Choral Director and teacher at Exeter High School in Exeter.

 

She founded Vocalocity, a community chorus based in Exeter. Jen enjoys theatre, travel, reading and spending time with her 3 fine sons–Bradley, Ben and Tim.  She also has 3 adorable grandchildren with whom she loves spending her free time!

Donna Burns
Organist/Pianist

Donna grew up in Wakefield, MA, but always spent her summers at Seabrook Beach where she now resides. She has a degree in Music Education (voice and piano) and a Masters Degree in Administration and Supervision in Music Education. Donna is retired from the Revere Public Schools where she was a Music Specialist (K-12). She also had a 35-year tenure as Music Director/ Organist/ Handbell Choir Director at the First Baptist Church in Wakefield, MA.

 

She enjoys the beach, traveling and family time. Donna is currently enjoying sharing her Music Ministry with the FCC community.
